I am friends with all, but friendly with few. It's not a negative move, but a protective move. As an empath, I find myself easily getting sucked into other people's lives, dreams, and drama. I'm learning to be stingy with my juice.

Juice is what I refer to as my energy, time, money, heart, and even my dreams. These are my most sacred values. If any of those become depleted, my artistic soul starts to weaken. Next thing you know, you're so engulfed into an entire solar system of someone else's life. Then I miss one rehearsal, skip working on music, and so on.

Our inner cosmos is too fragile to be given over to the construction of other people's illusions. The moment you start living someone else's life, your own music fades. Aerosmith is right: catching other people's dreams is a trap. Close the doors to other people's dramas. Save your sacred "juice" for the masterpieces that only you can create.
