It was embarrassing and hilarious getting kicked out of the hotel in Moscow. Especially since I have performed at Mercedes Bar and Bono several times. I know the managers, art directors, and a few of the chefs in those venues. But I don't know anyone that actually works at the Radisson Hotel, which hosts the venues. This kind of explains our quick exodus, courtesy of Face Control. LOL.
After my show, I met up with a few of my fellow Foxies to hit the town. I suggested we meet at the lobby bar on the first floor of the Radisson. I noticed the Face Control giving us a side-eye every so often, but I was used to looks from strangers. As we began to order our drinks, Face Control came over to interrogate us. I had no idea about the Russian conversation taking place around me. But after a few words were exchanged, my girlfriend informed me that we had to leave. Face Control wouldn't dare be blunt enough to tell us why he felt we didn't belong. But we understood what he was insinuating. He thought we were call girls lingering around the bar to solicit men.
I wasn't offended. Moscow has a very strict Face Control culture, especially at high-end luxury places. If they feel you don't belong, for whatever reason, you have to go. No conversation. The only place I have seen with stricter FC is Dubai. This is my first time being kicked out of a place. Is it weird that I feel like a baddie now? LOL.
