Check out this information I found online, my friends. It explains it better. Always remember to double-check with any country's migration authorities for the dos and don'ts, as laws are subject to change, of course.
US citizens do not need a visa to enter Lithuania for short-term stays of up to 90 days within any 180-day period. For stays longer than 90 days, or for working/studying, Americans must apply for a National Visa (D) or a Temporary Residence Permit. Applications are processed through VFS Global in the USA or the Lithuanian Migration Department online.

Short-Term Stay (Under 90 Days)
Visa: Not required.
Requirements: A valid passport issued within the last 10 years, with at least two blank pages and valid for at least 3 months beyond the planned departure date.
Schengen Area: Lithuania is part of the Schengen area, meaning this 90-day limit applies to the entire area, not just Lithuania.

Long-Term Stay (Over 90 Days / National D Visa)
Process: Submit applications electronically via the Lithuanian Migration Information System (MIGRIS) and visit a VFS Global center in person.
Key Requirements:
Valid Passport.
Proof of sufficient funds (1 minimum monthly salary per month).
Medical insurance (at least 30,000 EUR coverage).
Proof of accommodation.
Processing Time: Generally 15 calendar days, but can be extended.
