It's the start of the MOST wonderful time of the year, Foxies!!!! HOLIDAY SEASON TIME!! Who is excited with me? Since the summer, I have been blessed to book only private shows so far. Private shows are more money, fewer musicians, and too much alcohol. LOL. And it has given me more freedom to book more out-of-town gigs. Lithuania is being added to my passport in December. And though I have already been to Dubai, I will be returning in January. In other words, my holiday season has already started!! Woo Hoo!!
So when will your holiday start? My friends in Canada celebrated their Thanksgiving in October. While my loved ones in America will celebrate it in November. But friends in Russia will not celebrate Thanksgiving at all. But they have Two Christmases and Two New Years'. Party Central for the Ruskies, indeed! I think the only thing that can top it is Hanukkah when you get a gift eight nights in a row. Where and how everyone's holidays originated varies from country to country. And how to celebrate varies from culture to culture.
Thank Goddess there are different strokes for different folks. Everyone can celebrate in a way that makes them happy if they want to celebrate at all. Don't you agree? I say we should make up our own holidays. My holiday would be "Foxy Friday Day". One Friday a month, people around the world go out of their way to compliment strangers, reminding them of how foxy they are, while we are wearing fake fox ears all day. Shall I write all of the world leaders about my idea? What would be your holiday idea?
The whole point of holidays is to make people feel wonderful about being alive, loved, and happy. So if a stranger on the street just so happens to wish us a Merry Christmas, though we don't celebrate it, just take it in stride and know they mean well. The fact that they are wishing you Happy Holiday to us is their way of trying to be a good neighbor and spread some good cheer. So Let's Be Foxy. Not Hyperorthodoxy!!!
Have a Merry Everything!
