death threats and racism in lithuania

Foxys, in all of my years of traveling, I have never experienced the amount of racism that I've received since I've been in Lithuania. Being born and raised in America, I have become conditioned to racism. It's expected. But Lithuania has added a new level to it for me. The closer it gets to my concert, the worse the threats have become. I'm disappointed, actually. I have not lived here long enough to say it's a cultural thing, like America. But it is still disappointing nonetheless.
Everyone keeps telling me to ignore it, but I don't think they would feel the same if their family members were getting death threats constantly. This type of taunting isn't something that anybody should have to get used to.
I thought about canceling my show, then I think about what my ancestors and Black artists had to endure in order for me to have my career. Plus, can you imagine what the world would be like without Black American Music? Our music is the ONLY global music. The entire world knows Michael Jackson. But we don't know many Lithuanian, Russian, or any other country's artists. Music is OUR house. And I'll be damned if anyone will intimidate me in my own home.
Stay Foxy!
