tgif!-foxy moxie in the den

Stay Foxy!
Stay Foxy!

Say it with me, Nah! TGIF - Thank Goddess I'm Foxy. And why should we be thankful? Because as foxes, we are the Queens of Dens. With our sharp claws, we dig burrows and tunnels to create dens to retreat, heal, and hide from predators. And lately, I have been Foxin' in my den with myself. And as a solitary creature, I have enjoyed every moment to myself.

This week's challenges have drained me immensely. It was riddled with obstacles and predators. Though I won in the end, the battle was not without wounds. No, none of the injuries were permanent, but I have learned to take my mental health seriously. In the past, I would label myself "strong" by the ability to take a punch and keep moving. But why must I do that? What am I trying to prove fighting through obvious injuries? If I was physically wounded, I would retreat immediately. Mental wounds need to be taken just as seriously, if not more.

Some of the things I do while healing in my den are limit my social media interactions, stick to my "text only" rule; sleep; look to my tribe for counseling and comfort; eat well; don't push myself... and most of all, I remind myself that Healing Is Not Linear. I plan on being back to my old self on Monday... wide eyes and fluffy tail. Until then, everybody have a safe weekend. And stay foxy!
