It doesn't always work, but many times I will ask the audience to sing back to me. The ladies are always game to sing from their seats. The men...not so much. "I paid for the tickets, I don't need to sing!" is what I imagine they're saying, as they stare at me in protest against my request. LOL.

This particular clip is from a performance in Orenburg, Russia. The band was hesitant with my idea of asking the entire auditorium to sing back to us. What if we were met with silence? This isn't a city like Moscow, where the people tend to be more vocal. Orenburg was a shy city.

But I took my chance anyway. And it was great! "Hit the Road Jack" is a universal song. I was shocked to learn that a few years ago. Thank you, Orenburg, for singing back to me. It's like a scented-champagne kiss on my cheek. And it erases the invisible line between us. Maybe I will take my chance and bring some of you to the stage next time? Hmm, Moxie is pushing her luck??? We will see.
