eucalyptus SteamMMM, The Vocalists dream

Besides the sweet fragrance of marijuana, Eucalyptus is my second favourite scent in the world. It has so many benefits for singers and vocalists.

  • Pain Relief: Eucalyptus oil may help alleviate headaches and muscle pain when applied topically, often mixed with a carrier oil.

  • Aromatherapy Benefits: Its refreshing scent can promote relaxation and mental clarity, making it a popular choice in aromatherapy.

  • Respiratory Health: It can help relieve symptoms of colds, coughs, and sinus congestion. The oil may act as an expectorant, helping to clear mucus from the airways.

Anti-inflammatory Properties: Eucalyptus oil has anti-inflammatory effects, which can be beneficial for conditions such as arthritis or muscle pain

Be careful when using the oil because it is HIGHLY potent! Even putting too much in your water for steaming can cause damage to your nostrils. I've burned my nostrils several times! A few drops will suffice. And if you have any tips, please write so I can share them with our community.

Steaming our vocals is like a mini-vacation for our vocal cords. It relaxes the muscles, clears out any debris, decreases mucus, and most of all - moisture, moisture, moisture, our vocal cords' best friend. I usually steam my vocals three times a week. If I have a show, I will steam them a few hours before and then immediately afterwards.

TIP: Try not talk for at least forty-five minutes after vocal steaming. This will allow your cords to retain the moisture and enjoy the benefits as they rest. Also, try vocal steaming when having head cold symptoms. Your instruments (ear, nose, throat) will thank you later. Keep warm, and Stay Foxy!
